Twenty students, faculty, and staff from UMBC, Bowie State, University of Maryland College Park, and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore are at the Latin and Caribbean Consortium for Engineering Institutions (LACCEI) conference in Costa Rica this week. The students are participating in various activities throughout the conference such as the Global Engineering Challenge with World SPEED – Student Platform for Engineering Education Development, and culturally-relevant engineering discussions with mentors. The Maryland delegation includes students from LSAMP, LSAMP-BD, and the PROMISE AGEP.
